On March 25, students from the Dwight Morrow High School Cosmetology program, organized by Ms. Julissa Ramos took part in a truly inspiring and immersive experience at the 2025 International Beauty Show (IBSNY) in New York City. This hands-on opportunity gave students real-world insight into the beauty industry while strengthening their classroom learning.
Students kicked off the day by attending professional classes led by top stylists and educators in the industry, choosing between hair coloring or hairstyling trend sessions. They then explored the vast exhibit hall, engaging with vendors from around the world, learning about cutting-edge products, and watching live demonstrations.
🎉 A highlight of the trip was the generous donation of a signed manikin head by renowned Andis educator Kenny Duncan—an exciting moment that will serve as a lasting source of inspiration in the classroom.
Student reflections show just how impactful this trip was. Anneisha D. shared how she learned to reduce acne breakouts and create textured hair and curly updos—skills she believes will help her grow as a future skincare and hair professional. Channa V. expressed excitement about using new facial products and techniques and even discovered helpful styling tools like straightening brushes.
